Suggestions???

Jonathan and I are going to be doing our baby registry soon, and I wanted to check and see if there are any parents (or close friends of parents who've learned this) out there who have any items you absolutely recommend to have on the list and also any that you feel are a total waste. So lay those suggestions on me!

More Photos

We had another ultrasound this past Wednesday, and it went great. It was a 2D ultrasound that allowed us to look closely at our daughter's developing organs to make sure everything is on track. We were able to see the 4 chambers of her heart, lungs, kidneys, the cerebellum of her brain, fingers, toes, and the blood flowing to her through the umbilical cord. She was quite the squirmer when we began the ultrasound wiggling all the limbs of her body as if she were break dancing. She then thought it would be fun to headbutt me several times when we went to look at her face. We have all of this on tape and will eventually get it up here when we can get it digitized.

Here is a picture of her profile
with her hand to her mouth.

Here is another profile shot.
Not sure why this one loaded so small.
(You can click on all of these images for a larger view).

Here is one of her feet.

This one's a little spooky. Her body is profile (as you can see her tummy---the white line on the bottom is her spine). But her head is turned out looking straight at the camera. The two dark dots are her eyes.

Pictures of Our Little Lady

Here are 2 of the ultrasound pictures we had done last week. We'll be having another one this Wednesday to check out all of the baby's organs and confirm the sex.

(Click Photo to Enlarge)

This first picture is my favorite. Looking at it from Left to Right, her belly is the first thing you see on the left. It looks like a tubby round ball and the black dot you see is her heart. The the next circle is her face. She's looking straight up at the photo. The 2 dark dots are her eyes and right between them in the white you can see her entire nose. Under her nose you can see her mouth. She is smiling. She either has her tongue out or a big lip!

(Click Photo to Enlarge)

The second picture is only of her legs. You can see her bones really well and if you look closely you can see the outline of her legs around them. From left to right, its her thighs, knees, calves, and then her little feet are crossed at the bottom (right side of the pic). Our doctor said we must have a little Southern Lady. Great for manners...not so great for trying to find the sex!

Confucius Say: Baby Girl in August make for Hot Mama

soooo according to the Chinese calender (and more importantly) our doctor, we are having a GIRL!!!!!! We have another more in depth ultrasound next Wednesday to confirm what we saw at today's ultrasound, but our doctor said she's about 97% sure. Our due date is still set for August 10th!

First Week

We've officially been in Austin a week. Not sure if the move has actually sunk in yet, but we are loving it none the less. We're really enjoying the hill country and exploring all it has to offer. I'd never realized how beautiful it is. We're re-adjusting to the new, slower pace of life and realizing we're not in LA anymore...things will be different, very different. In celebration of the move and change of pace, I've netflixed Funny Farm.

The Pregnancy is going well. I feel great and can feel the baby move. Jonathan can occasionally feel him/her as well which is always exciting. I'm 4.5 months along right now. I'm hoping we'll have an ultrasound soon. I can't wait to find out what we're having.

Here are a few pics:

A few things I've learned (so far) while being pregnant:

1). What pregnant brain truly is (I have absolutely no longer term memory and have lost the ability to multi-task....Jonathan has congratulated me on entering his world).

2.) I have NOOOO balance what-so-ever. From trying to put on a shoe while standing up to leaning over to pick something off the floor... I've come to accept its never a good idea at this point.

3). I now know what the inside of my belly button looks like. What was once a deep, dark hole now looks like the end of the tie on a balloon.

4). I never understood how much food a human could consume...and yet still be hungry in about 1.5-2 hours.

5). I've now forgotten number 5 (refer back to # 1).
