Suh-weet Candy!

I'm in a good mood. Right now, I'm in the middle of packing to go to Tejas for a week! I'm super excited to get to see my family and get to meet some of my future family (my bro. is getting married in Sept, and he and his fiancee and family are coming in as well)! Since I will be gone for the week, and Jon doesn't have enough vacation to take off the week with me, he will be spending the extended holiday weekend with his fam. in TN. So we are both excited to get to spend time with our families, but it just sucks that we can't spend it together. However, I am glad to be getting outta this town for a few days and away from the nutjobs who reside here. You know when you turn on your local news station and it's doing a segment on Tom Cruise and his puppet...errr, I mean newly Scientology converted fiancee... it's time to get out.... C'mon that's not news...that crap belongs on E! Will someone please stand up to these people, and tell them they're crazy....Geez in this town if you have fame and fortune, then by all means you are the be-all know-all on any topic. Don't believe me? Check out this article and count how many times Tom Cruise tells Matt Lauer about what he knows and Matt doesn't. YET no one stops this man--- Here's a way to stop him and this insanity..... STOP SUPPORTING HIS FILMS. I guarentee if his box office draws go down, then his fame goes down,...then maybe, just maybe someone will have the balls to tell him how crazy he and his cult "religion" are.

Anyway, I have no idea how I got on that soap box...but am glad to move on to something else...anything else. Recently Jonathan got some funny footage of Hurley James Jefferson MonteClaire Grubbs (the cat) watching some sweet-awesome Latino futbol (soccer folks). Alright, alright so I let you in on the full name of our cat. Get over it! You already know why his first name is
Hurley... the next two names we couldn't agree upon so we gave him both (James is after his adopted Father's name and is used mainly in addition to his first name when he has done something wrong. Now that I think about it, I actually have no idea where Jon got Jefferson from.) We both mutually agreed on Monteclaire because our furry son will be attending Harvard one day ...and needs to have a "smart" name he can fall back on. That's right folks, we have taught him to fetch his toys, catch them in mid-air, and just today he learned how to push the lever down on the toilet....however it did give him quite a scare when it flushed. He's no Jinxy yet, but he's getting there....Anyway, I can only imagine the drama that will prevail when it's time to name our children. But don't worry we won't be having an "Apple" or a "Coco".... Thank goodness those names are already taken...All future grandparents can breath a sigh of relief .....for now!

Anyway, this has seriously turned into one of the most random blogs I've ever posted. You can catch me on HBO on July 4th when the episode I did of Six Feet Under finally airs. Any of you have any fun summer plans ahead? If so, do share. We're looking forward to attending a sold-out in ten minute Cold Play concert in August.

Hmmm....

In this world, there really aren't a whole lot of people who live in Harmony.

Two Years and Cinderella Man

Well my hubby and I recently celebrated 2 years of wedded bliss. He surprised me with a weekend getway at a wonderful little seaside town called Cambria. We stayed in this great landing and had a blast just relaxing and being out of the city. The drive up reminded me of home with lots of cows and pine trees. I also was able to see some things I'd never seen before... wine vineyards, the hidden vally ranch, and Tom Mesereau (Michael Jackson's lawyer).... no seriously we pulled into a gas station in Santa Maria, and I saw this little restuarant called "Pappy's" so I was taking a picture of it (since that's what we call my grandfather)... and low and behold who pops out of this little friend chicken joint? MJs attorney..... you really can't mistake his hairstyle... Click here for more pictures from the trip. They all came out pretty nice.

Also, before the we left for the weekend, we got a great opportunity, through the Screen actors Guild, to go see
Cinderella Man before it was released in theaters. We ALSO got to sit through a Q&A with Ron Howard, Russell Crowe, and Renee Zellweger after the film was finished. I gotta be honest ....if I would have just seen the trailers for this film... I probably wouldn't have been prompted to go out and see it... I wouldn't have thought I would have liked it as much as I did (it's really not about all boxing). However, I will say it was one of the best films I've seen in a really long time. I have no doubt it will be up for best picture when oscar season rolls around, along with nominations for best director, actor, actress, and supporting actor (Paul Giamatti). So really it is worth paying the ridiculous movie ticket fee to catch this flick. I believe it opens up in theaters this week.
