Catching Up
Sooo.... I'm only about 4 months behind on things! Yes, I do still plan to go private I just haven't had time to sit down and figure it out. We've been nonstop the past few months, and it looks like we have finally come to a breathing point! I was hoping to put a few recent photos of the pickle up here, but realize I haven't uploaded any photos (except her one year photos) since May (oops!). I will try to remedy this in the next few days. Until then, enjoy this view of the cutest buck teeth you've ever seen!

Going Private
The lack of posts here has been due to the heavy consideration of whether or not to go private. I've decided with all of the personal information I post, along with pictures of our family (especially those of Dylann), for her safety most of all, I am going to limit the world from such knowledge of the Grubbs'. So if you would like to continue to follow our blog, please send me your e-mail address, and I will add you to the access list so that you may continue to read this blog.

8 Months Old
I don't know what it is about hitting the 8 month old mark, but more and more each day, it quickly feels as though our little baby is blossoming into a beautiful little lady. She is currently saying Mama, Dada, baba (bottle), and hi (though this takes a lot of coaxing to get out of her). She is sitting up really well on her own and scooting backwards (instead of crawling forward). She had her first tooth break through this past Sunday. We discovered this as she was drinking water out of a cup (yah... we somehow skipped the sippy cup but will be going back to introduce it as to avoid major messes), and we heard a clanging noise on the cup. If you'd like to see proof of her drinking water, click here. I took a ton of pictures today and have decided to post about 20. So here they are!

Dylann turns 6 Months Old!
Wow! Our lives have never flown by so quickly. When I look back at Dylann's newborn pictures, I can't believe how she has gone from being 6 pounds 15 oz., 19 inches long to 16 pounds 14.5 oz, 27 inches long. It's amazing. As parents, our lives have become full of a new joy that we never knew before. Our sweet Dylann keeps us all smiling with her giggles and grins.

A few things about our sweet girl:

A few things about our sweet girl:
- She LOVES watching baby signing time. Jonathan and I are trying to sign with her any time we are doing any activity with the words we have learned.
- She rarely ever ***cries*** except when it comes time to feed her. If she sees me go to warm her bottle before it's time to eat...she wants it and she wants it now! However, the funny part of it all is halfway through the bottle she somehow forgets its in her month, gives a little fuss, so I wiggle it a bit to remind her yes, it is in fact still in there.
- ***Her "cries" are not really cries at all---at the moment. Right now, they sound more like puppy wimpers. It's pretty cute.
- She is a super cuddly baby. This is such a gift! I've always wanted a snugly baby. I'm enjoying it as much as I can...and before she's able to motor around.
- She loves songs from Mary Poppins. I currently sing "Feed the Birds" to put her to sleep.
- She is chewing on EVERYTHING and grabbing for EVERYTHING. Just yesterday when Cherese was over for lunch, she got a handful of my ranch dressing.
- She loves to peep around at you if you try to hide your face from her. She will stretch and strain to find you, wherever you may be!
- Her giggles are infectious! I could seriously listen to them all day and never tire of them.
- Her favorite book is The Very Hungry Caterpillar. We read it a few times every day, and she loves to reach for the fruit on the pages. She also has a caterpillar stuffed animal that travels everywhere she goes. It's amazing to me that so many people recognize it when we are out (although the book is a best seller and has been published since the 60s... so I shouldn't really be surprised). Jonathan and I both have the book pretty much memorized.
- She's been sleeping through the night since she was about 5 weeks old. She now sleeps about 11 hours at a stretch waking up between 10-11:00 AM. (soooo great!)
- She likes to get her picture taken. She actually has become quite a ham when the camera comes out.

6 Month Photo Shoot:: Sneak Peek!
This Saturday we had Dylann's 6th month pictures taken by a wonderful photographer, Lisa Woods of Now and Then Photography, who came highly recommended by several of our friends. We are so glad we went with Lisa for these photos and look forward to working with her again! Here is a sneak peek of our session!
